Clint didn't like to use a gun if he didn't have to, but it was more compact and therefore more covert than his bow, so he had his own sidearm at the ready.
And he was doing just fine at concentrating on the mission at hand until he heard that baby. He knew their first priority was the Agents in jeopardy, but a baby here... They would have to take care of that as well.
