RP Log: For you_have_heart (Loki)

Who: Loki and Coulson
Where: Avengers Headquarters
When: 7 and a half months after The Avengers
Verse:After this meme Thread. Coulson lived. An incident in a special location happened, and Loki was captured once again. This time to stay on Midgard.

Some things were just way too hard to explain. Like how someone could capture Captain America as well as Black Widow and lock them away in the same holding cell. A room with no windows or doors and had a temperature of 110 degrees and raising the whole time.

What else wasn’t explainable was capturing Loki, who should have been locked away or sentenced on Asgard, as well as Agent Coulson, right out of S.H.I.E.L.D. territory. Also, why would anyone take Phil Coulson anyhow, let alone lock him with Loki in a freezer like room with only one blanket to share.

None of it made sense. Why would you put the Prince of the Frost Giants into a freezer in the first place... unless you take away the magic, which is what they had learned. The rooms seemed to put a damper on the abilities of those who have them. Where Phil and Natasha got along like any human would in extreme weather, Loki and Rogers suffered different consequences.

You would think that didn't matter, but it did. By time they permitted Phil to go back to work (a clean bill of health) they were already setting up a perfect prison designed off the same technological make of the frozen room. Meaning?

Meaning Loki found himself in a room, far down in the bottom of Stark Tower (still in remodel and the future home of the Avengers...) in a cell made to damper the Gods powers. It was a bit cold in the cell, but nothing nearly as bad as what they had experienced before. It was a place they could keep him until they knew what to do with him.

When they were found, Coulson had agreed to make sure only Thor saw him as he had been there, and Coulson kept to his word as best he could. By time they broke through the wall it was the Iron Man and Thor who busted through. Pulling the blanket tighter over the blue god, Coulson hide him away, in such an awkward situation no less. He informed them of what happened, but he could barely keep continuous. He somehow got Thors attention, leaving the god to deal with taking Loki out of the chamber, taking Stark’s assistance to get out. And that was that. From there it was all on Thor.

While Director Fury, Thor and the others tried to decide who they would tell or what they would do, Coulson slipped away, leaving the gathering of minds. Stark said he was contained and should be comfortable. Barton would have rather had shoved an arrow through his eye. Phil was...

Well he found himself walking carefully down the hall to the holding cell the man was in. Coming to the window of the door he peeked in, then unlocked it, entering.

It was cool in here, but not unbearable. It still wasn’t something he wanted to remember at this point in time. Sliding his hands into his pockets he stood there, back to the door, eyes down a bit.

“Need a blanket?” He asked, only then glancing up to the other. The accommodations weren’t bare bones, but they were about as sparse as his own quarters were.

Loki accepted the bottle with a nod. "Of course." He moved back into the main living area and sat down on the large leather sofa.

"Do all of the Avengers live in this tower?"

He moved around the counter and out to the living area, not taking a seat yet as he feared if he did he might nod off at some point. Cracking the bottle open he took a sip, looking around the little place. It looked like all the rest. Just less lived in.

“At the moment, most of them do. Natasha is taking longer to warm up to the idea, but I’ve noticed she’s been showing up more often than not. Thor is in and out, either with Jane or in Asgard, but he has a space here as well. For when he’s here.”

He paced around casually, sipping water. It’s been a long day. “Are you actually interested in being apart of this, or are you just doing it to repay your debt?”

Loki watched him pace, casually sipping his water as the other man spoke. So Thor lived here sometimes. Lovely.

"I am first and foremost interested in repaying my debt. Though the fact that everyone seems to think I'll turn on you all at the drp of a hat does make things a little easier to go along with. I do so hate doing what is expected of me."

He watched him for a moment more. "When last did you rest?"

He could understand the thing about THor. He was set to Loud mode all the time. A good man though and Coulson was glad he was on their team, but he was oddly glad that he wasn’t here as often as he could be. Though with Loki around he expected that to change. He also expected a wall to be knocked out in an argument at some point.

“So the more we expect you to be a thorn in our side the better behaved you’ll be?” He felt his lip curl up in a half smile at that. So like a cat. Does what he wants.

Wait, rest? He paused, raising a brow. “What day is it?” He asked back, clearly speaking volumes about when he ever gets this ‘rest’ thing. A small shrug at that point. “I’m sure I got some not long ago.” Only, he just spent 14 something hours bickering, arguing and fighting his point. Let’s not even consider how long he had been on the move before that.

Oh, walls probably would be broken, along with other things, but probably not in Loki's floor. He was contemplating considering the floor his, and he did not like his things being broken.

"More or less. If I grow to like it i may be more complacent, or I might just grow bored. You never know, and it's no fun if I can not keep everyone guessing."

Loki gave a half frown "How am I to know to day? I have been in captivity for longer than you."

For now it was Loki’s floor. He could rule over it and make it his own if he wanted. If he stayed and was good.

That answer however was another thing that reminded him of a cat. It amused him, really. “What might help you like it more?”

But oh, he chuckled at that. “Figure of speech. I’m not sure. I’ve been busy. There’s paperwork to finish, codes to confirm, new procedures to complete. I’m the best in the tower at the written word.” In other words no one else could write a damn report.

The bottle of water is re-capped and set on the coffee table. "Oh, I don't know. Some servants would be a good start, thought." He smirked. A joke, clearly. Well, half-joke. He would like to have some servants.

"You seem like a very busy man."

“I’ll get right on that.” He said in a semi flat tone, though he was still rather amused. Joke or not, it wasn’t happening. JARVIS was slave enough.

“Someone has to do the background work. No one else will do it.” Or more to the fact that he doesn't delegate the work off to others because he wants it done right. He makes his own work.

"I believe what you mean to say is no one else will do it correctly." Yeah, Loki knew that feeling. Even if he did let someone else do the work, he would end up spending double the time on it fixing their mistakes. It was very frustrating.

"Sir, the delivery boy is here. Shall I send him up or will you be picking the food up in the lobby?"

Again, that made him smile. “Something like that.” Which is the best agreement you’ll receive.

When JARVIS spoke he automatically looked up, because it was weird talking to a disembodied voice without looking.

“Lobby. I’ll be down in a moment. I’d rather not have a stranger here just yet.” He said simply, sitting his drink down on a table, cap on, and glancing to the other man. “Won't take me but a moment.”

"I await your return with baited breath." Loki finished off his own water bottle and set it on the coffee table.

Once the Agent was gone he smirked, moved Phil's water bottle over just an inch or so.

He made no comment to that, just shaking his head and wandering to the elevator door. It didn't take him long at all. The food was paid for already so it was just an exchange. There were a few stops on the way up. One to the lab he knew Stark was in, leaving surprise pot stickers for Tony, scribbling a note that said 'EAT' because he knew he wouldn't now that he had a project to safe guard the place more.

Another plate left for Bruce in the same area. He stopped at his floor to drop off one whole bag, for himself later if no one touched it, or for the others on that floor. He said nothing about it other then getting on the lift to return to 34. JARVIS would announce food if they were really missing it.

Exiting at Loki's new floor he glanced around carefully, though trying not to make it look like he was investigating. The other still seated there. Coming to the coffee table he sat the large bag of take out boxes down. "Chinese. A staple among those who roost here. You'll either love it or hate it. There is no gray."

And yes, in his glance over, he would notice first that his bottle was turned wrong actually. Label not face forward but canted. That noticed the movement of it too. But he didn't say or do anything yet. It was just a mental note.

Loki looked over the food. It smelled good enough, but it did look rather strange. He tried the teriyaki chicken, and found it to be pleasant enough.

While he ate, he kept glancing over at the water bottle and then to Phil. Each look was very short, but he made sure Phil noticed at least a few times.

"This is better than I expected." He had moved onto the fried rice.

taking a seat he help spread out boxes. As he told Jarvis, give them verity. Plucking up a spicy beef dish he pulled out chop sticks (he left a pair for Loki as well as a fork...) and plucked at bits.

And yes, he noticed the eyes. The glances. He noticed it and was curious. It also made h is mind work in over time. Good job sir. Either while he was gone the man messed with his water, or he's just trying to mess with his mind. Which was partly working.

"JARVIS orders from the best in town. It looks bad, but it's filling." And not at all good for you but that was beside the point.

As for the water? It had been moved. The man kept looking off at it. If he had drugged it it wouldn't really matter. There would be no way to get him out of there alive. The bracelet on Coulson's wrist had to be used a special way to work. Besides witch, the cap was still on slightly crooked, and he doubted the man would be able to fit it perfectly crooked in return. Well, maybe.

After the third caught look he sat his box down, reached for the water as if this meant nothing, twisted the badly threaded cap off and took a sip form it, raising a brow at the man. He capped it back again and set it down, taking up a egg roll instead and biting the end off.

Yes, he is looking at you as if to say 'what?'

Loki began to laugh. Uncontrollable, rather infectious laughter. It was not malicious, but could be seen as disconcerting form some one in Phil's position.

He added in some pointing at the agent's face for effect.

"Apparently you find something funny?" He said calmly, taking another bite of egg roll and watching the man laughing as he was. Okay, sure, maybe the little God did something childish like spit in his water. No big deal. Or maybe he was playing games. It was a trickster god after all.

The laughing made him raise a brow though... while he plucked up another bit of veggy out of a box and popped it into his mouth. "Care to explain?" On the inside he might be wondering what he just drank, but he's going to try to not show that.

Loki did not stop laughing, but instead he kept laughing, this time making gestures to his face.

Well, this was becoming annoying, and he wasn't even sure WHY the guy was laughing. He raised a finger to scratch at his own jaw, poked at a piece of chicken and then... sighed.

"What?"

He sat back now, leaning on the couch arm and glancing off towards him, tired and yes, confused. "If you did something to my water, I just want you to know that the reason I haven't picked anything from the box you are eating form is because the beast used to make the dish is highly deadly to men. You included. Thor was barely saved last time. Enjoy that." Said, pointing chop stick ends at him.

The laughing slowly wound down as Loki wipes some moisture from his eyes. "I did nothing to your water. I was merely judging your reaction."

He took another bite of the almond chicken, almost defiantly "And do you honestly think I would believe that? Midgardians are far to cautious about their food to regularly eat something so dea-" His voice caught in his throat and his eyes went wide. A hand went to his throat as he began to cough.

"I'm glad my reaction was so delightfully amusing." He said and rolled his eyes, though hiding ab it of a smirk.

"Ever heard of blow-fish?" because... well that was a good example of dumb food. Wait. He blinked as the god started to cough. "You are not allowed to choke. Not funny." He said it flatly, not moving because he thought he was really joking. He's looking at you in annoyance right now...

Loki stopped coughing, but continued to act as if he was choking on something. He looked up at Phil, his eyes pleading, as he collapsed onto the couch.

There are some things in ones training that kick in automatically on their own. Someone collapsing does kick in the 'go to their rescue' side for the ex Ranger. Sonofabitch...

He didn't have to think about the move. He sat his box down while half standing, kneeling on the edge of the couch and leaning over the little god.

"Not funny." He said again. "You didn't just battle through hell and back, as well as a freezer with no magic, to suddenly choke and die on almond chicken." It was an attempt to shake him out of it, his voice annoyed, yes, because he didn't like this joke, but startled as well. Clearly underlying tone of worry.

Leaning over him he shook his shoulder, dreading to have to try CPR because he had never been comfortable with that. Also, he needed to tell Jarvis to get others but if this was just a joke then--- damn it, Loki!

Loki smiled and stopped the act. "You are right about that one. This almond chicken is not even a particularly delicious way to die." He sat back up on the couch. "I wanted to see your reaction to that as well."

There was the sharpest roll of eyes and the Agent pushed away from the other, giving a small huff as he did. Oooooh! "I'm leaving." he said in a small groan, reaching to pluck up his bottle of water. "Hows that for reaction?"

"Okay, you did set yourself up for that with the deadly meat comment." Loki continued to munch on said deadly meat happily. "And if I am going to follow you, I'd like to know you have concern for my life. Simple."
