RP Log: For you_have_heart (Loki)

Who: Loki and Coulson
Where: Avengers Headquarters
When: 7 and a half months after The Avengers
Verse:After this meme Thread. Coulson lived. An incident in a special location happened, and Loki was captured once again. This time to stay on Midgard.

Some things were just way too hard to explain. Like how someone could capture Captain America as well as Black Widow and lock them away in the same holding cell. A room with no windows or doors and had a temperature of 110 degrees and raising the whole time.

What else wasn’t explainable was capturing Loki, who should have been locked away or sentenced on Asgard, as well as Agent Coulson, right out of S.H.I.E.L.D. territory. Also, why would anyone take Phil Coulson anyhow, let alone lock him with Loki in a freezer like room with only one blanket to share.

None of it made sense. Why would you put the Prince of the Frost Giants into a freezer in the first place... unless you take away the magic, which is what they had learned. The rooms seemed to put a damper on the abilities of those who have them. Where Phil and Natasha got along like any human would in extreme weather, Loki and Rogers suffered different consequences.

You would think that didn't matter, but it did. By time they permitted Phil to go back to work (a clean bill of health) they were already setting up a perfect prison designed off the same technological make of the frozen room. Meaning?

Meaning Loki found himself in a room, far down in the bottom of Stark Tower (still in remodel and the future home of the Avengers...) in a cell made to damper the Gods powers. It was a bit cold in the cell, but nothing nearly as bad as what they had experienced before. It was a place they could keep him until they knew what to do with him.

When they were found, Coulson had agreed to make sure only Thor saw him as he had been there, and Coulson kept to his word as best he could. By time they broke through the wall it was the Iron Man and Thor who busted through. Pulling the blanket tighter over the blue god, Coulson hide him away, in such an awkward situation no less. He informed them of what happened, but he could barely keep continuous. He somehow got Thors attention, leaving the god to deal with taking Loki out of the chamber, taking Stark’s assistance to get out. And that was that. From there it was all on Thor.

While Director Fury, Thor and the others tried to decide who they would tell or what they would do, Coulson slipped away, leaving the gathering of minds. Stark said he was contained and should be comfortable. Barton would have rather had shoved an arrow through his eye. Phil was...

Well he found himself walking carefully down the hall to the holding cell the man was in. Coming to the window of the door he peeked in, then unlocked it, entering.

It was cool in here, but not unbearable. It still wasn’t something he wanted to remember at this point in time. Sliding his hands into his pockets he stood there, back to the door, eyes down a bit.

“Need a blanket?” He asked, only then glancing up to the other. The accommodations weren’t bare bones, but they were about as sparse as his own quarters were.

Loki was once again laying on his bed. He could feel his energy returning slowly, but still not his magic.
He looked over when the doors opened. Instead of smirking this time, he gave Coulson a smile. Not a real smile, but at least he didn't look like he wanted to eat him.

"Good evening. You bring news of my fate?"

The tired man tried his best to look, not tired. He stood tall and proper, watching the man.

"I bring news." He said with a nod. Now, how to start. "As I said, I'm sticking my neck out for you, as is Thor. You will stay and help. The city is still in massive repair stages since the battle seven months ago. There are others popping up often enough to keep the Avengers busy."

He tilted his head a bit, continuing on. "You'll be given quarters to live in. If you want something, within reason, for your room, you ask me for it and no one else. I'll be your handler while you are on probation. There are security upgrades going on. New protocols being drawn up. You'll have your magic dampened, like I said, and you will be under watch but... prove you're one of us and those will slowly go away."

"I'll be honest. They think you'll betray us, in a heart beat. A few of them are worried you'll try to kill again. Thor fought strongly for this and even Captain America took your side. If you think you can handle this, I think after a bit of time you could fit in as well as the next person does."

He shut up now, watching the other carefully.

Loki's smile did something. It was as if it got both happier and sad at the same time. Thor was still sticking his neck out for him. That was...well, he was a fool who didn't learn lessons easily. But then again, if they all thought Loki was just going to turn on them, maybe he would play nice. After all, if there was one thing he hated, it was being predictable.

"And what do you think? You fought for me, but I have tried to kill you in the past. Do you think I will turn on everyone here, despite my debt?"

He could see the change in the smile, which was very easy to read if one just looked properly. There was something about the look that partly enchanted the man and partly... well, he felt bad for him still. Which might just be another reason that he was acting a fool. Feeling bad for this man.

"I don't know what to think. I want to trust in you. I trust you enough that even Director Fury hasn't heard about your secret. That's hard for me." His hands went back to his pockets, shoulders relaxed now.

"I'm trusting you because I think I can." He raised his eyes to watch the God again. "But if you do turn? Do me the kindness of actually taking my life first this time." He might be joking, but he might also be serious. This group of people meant a damn lot to him and if this was going to mess everything up? Well... he didn't actually want to be around to see that.

His expression was flat, but there was an undertone of sadness there. No default smile or anything.

"Of course." Loki stood up. There was no longer a pronounced slump in his posture, but he was still not standing as tall as normal. "And of course you realize that if you did tell anyone that would null the debt and I would no longer own you a debt, which would make all of this rather fruitless."

He walked over to Coulson and extended a hand "I do believe we have a deal. When shall I be moved?"

Watching the taller man come closer he considered this move a bit longer. Of course it would have nulled everything. He just wanted to make it a point, now, how hard this was to him. Perhaps not his finest moment, but he needed to make this clear to the man. This was a big deal.

Taking the extended hand he gave the man a firm deal shake. "A deal then." And then from his pocket he pulled a thin gold looking device, strong, bracelets like thing. He held it up to the man.

"Put this on. Left wrist please. Once that's done I can escort you to your area." It was just a tracking and magic dampening device, something connected to JARVIS and nothing more. No shock or pain would come form it, but once attached, only Coulson could undo it.

Loki took the bracelet and snapped it on. He felt a tingle run through his skin as the device cut off the rest of his ties to his magic. He was rather surprised it had not harmed him in some way, given it was probably Stark who made the device. The feeling of being kept from his magic was unpleasant, but nothing he could not stand living with. It was no worse than that muzzle he had worn the entire month he had been in Asgard.

"Well, there's that. Now, where shall I be staying. And how should I address you? Agent? Handler? Master?"

With that he nodded one, hand going back to his pocket and pulling out his own silver bracelet, slipping it on all while turning away to step towards the door. He thumb printed, scanned and badged it open, only to pause and look back. The look on his face said 'are you serious' to the last name. Master? really?

"You've had no problems using Agent before. I don't see why it should change any." He shook his head, pulling the door open and stepping out, nodding for him to follow. "Floor 34 is yours. You'll have access to some floors but not others. JARVIS knows where you can and cant go. There are kitchens as well as work out rooms you will have access to. Floor 34 has 6 living quarters in it. You may have your pick of all of them. At the moment the entire floor is yours."

This was all said as he lead them to the elevator.

"Are you sure about that? It is not often I offer to call someone Master."
Loki did follow him into the elevator. Once inside he stood next to Coulson. "My, an entire floor all to my own? I would have thought they would want to keep a closer eye on me than that. And who is this Jarvis fellow? I believe I heard Stark referring to him before but I have never seen seen him."

Nice, very nice. No that did not get a raise out of him. Or an answer. That was the last thing he needed to think about.

"You'll still be watched." by JARVIS. At the question, Coulson spoke up. "JARVIS. Floor thirty four. No Stops."

"Right away, Agent. Shall I inform the Director that you are on the move now?"

"No. He knows. I'll check in after we're done. Tell Stark the lower labs are his again."

After an affirmative form JARVIS Coulson glanced over to the other man. "You'll never actually see JARVIS. He';s the tower AI, computer, security among other things. He is also not on jsut one server, so no bright ideas of taking him over." Huh, was there a smile there? He looked away to the door again.

"If you need anything just speak up. He's programmed to recognize your voice and being. He will grant you information and access to things if you have the rank for it. He will tell you where you can and cant go if you like. He's an alarm for the morning, butler to an extent, and an assistant to TOny Stark, personally."

The door opened and he stepped off. "As I said. We are watching you." He waved off to the 34th floor, which was nice, all things considered. There was a small space off to the side for lounging, with chairs, a couch, a TV. There were a row of doors, each ot a personal bedroom and living space. The floor was clearly set up for a group of people to share. There were many empty floors like this and not. Stark got really bored when building, obviously. There were other things as well, but he can explore that when bored.

Loki looked up at the ceiling, smiling. As much as Stark annoyed him, he must say the mortal was rather clever.

"This is far more hospitality than I thought I would be shown. Tell me, where are you staying?"

It was a lot more then he should have got, but with Stark, the tower was already built and ready and this was the most they could do to keep him under watch as well.

"Stark is suprising like that. I'm on the floor below. My office however is up another ten floors. You have been given access to there when I am in it. Access to my floor only when needed." He gave a small smile over at the other, not stating that he had an archer and assassin that sometimes stayed on his floor.

"Will this work for you?"

Loki nodded, still looking around the main living area. It was sparse, but he supposed he could redecorate a little. "Yes, I believe it will do." He walked over to the tv and began inspecting it. It was a strange piece of decoration, wit buttons...

Pressing one, the screen turned on to a late-night talk show. Very peculiar indeed.

He turned around and smiled at Coulson. "Join me for a meal? You seem as if you have no eaten in a while, and I know very little of Midgardian food."

t was a little bit amusing to watch the man wander around and check out was the TV did. He wondered if he had ever used one before. Still, he kept an eye on him as he was moving around, just checking to see what it was he would look into. After this he HAD planned to go to his office and get more work done. Paperwork mostly.

Food? That was something he should do but didn't have time for. Did he? There was a lot of things to do still because of this. At the offer though he frowned, clearly considering work over substance.

“I suppose taking a moment to eat wouldn’t be a bad idea.”

"Does this Jarvis also bring food?" Loki looked around, as if he expected food to suddenly appear somewhere as he moved over to the counter that separated the kitchen area from the living area. It was not exactly a good feeling, not knowing how his own living quarters worked, but he could learn.

"I can order take-out, Sir. As it is rather late, it would seem the only food readily available is Chinese and pizza." Jarvis' voice spoke from the speakers in the ceiling.

Loki looked at Phil expectantly. "Which would you prefer?"

Oh, so trying not to smirk at all this. He was covering it pretty well, walking over to the counter and watching the other look around. It was... interesting to see a person unsure about things as simple as this. It took a bit to remember that he, like Thor, didn't know a lot about Earth.

When JARVIS spoke up he smiled. “Chinese would be best, I think. The usual order, JARVIS. With extras. I’m sure it won't go to waste in the end. Give him some variety to try.”

“Very good sir.”

"It will take a moment to get here. They have to come from another location. You might as well make yourself at home.” He crossed to a refrigerator which at the moment was only stocked with water. He pulled out a bottle, offering it to him, and one for himself. “I’ll see to it that this gets stocked later. This was a last minute rush, after all.”

Loki accepted the bottle with a nod. "Of course." He moved back into the main living area and sat down on the large leather sofa.

"Do all of the Avengers live in this tower?"

He moved around the counter and out to the living area, not taking a seat yet as he feared if he did he might nod off at some point. Cracking the bottle open he took a sip, looking around the little place. It looked like all the rest. Just less lived in.

“At the moment, most of them do. Natasha is taking longer to warm up to the idea, but I’ve noticed she’s been showing up more often than not. Thor is in and out, either with Jane or in Asgard, but he has a space here as well. For when he’s here.”

He paced around casually, sipping water. It’s been a long day. “Are you actually interested in being apart of this, or are you just doing it to repay your debt?”

Loki watched him pace, casually sipping his water as the other man spoke. So Thor lived here sometimes. Lovely.

"I am first and foremost interested in repaying my debt. Though the fact that everyone seems to think I'll turn on you all at the drp of a hat does make things a little easier to go along with. I do so hate doing what is expected of me."

He watched him for a moment more. "When last did you rest?"

He could understand the thing about THor. He was set to Loud mode all the time. A good man though and Coulson was glad he was on their team, but he was oddly glad that he wasn’t here as often as he could be. Though with Loki around he expected that to change. He also expected a wall to be knocked out in an argument at some point.

“So the more we expect you to be a thorn in our side the better behaved you’ll be?” He felt his lip curl up in a half smile at that. So like a cat. Does what he wants.

Wait, rest? He paused, raising a brow. “What day is it?” He asked back, clearly speaking volumes about when he ever gets this ‘rest’ thing. A small shrug at that point. “I’m sure I got some not long ago.” Only, he just spent 14 something hours bickering, arguing and fighting his point. Let’s not even consider how long he had been on the move before that.

Oh, walls probably would be broken, along with other things, but probably not in Loki's floor. He was contemplating considering the floor his, and he did not like his things being broken.

"More or less. If I grow to like it i may be more complacent, or I might just grow bored. You never know, and it's no fun if I can not keep everyone guessing."

Loki gave a half frown "How am I to know to day? I have been in captivity for longer than you."

For now it was Loki’s floor. He could rule over it and make it his own if he wanted. If he stayed and was good.

That answer however was another thing that reminded him of a cat. It amused him, really. “What might help you like it more?”

But oh, he chuckled at that. “Figure of speech. I’m not sure. I’ve been busy. There’s paperwork to finish, codes to confirm, new procedures to complete. I’m the best in the tower at the written word.” In other words no one else could write a damn report.

The bottle of water is re-capped and set on the coffee table. "Oh, I don't know. Some servants would be a good start, thought." He smirked. A joke, clearly. Well, half-joke. He would like to have some servants.

"You seem like a very busy man."

“I’ll get right on that.” He said in a semi flat tone, though he was still rather amused. Joke or not, it wasn’t happening. JARVIS was slave enough.

“Someone has to do the background work. No one else will do it.” Or more to the fact that he doesn't delegate the work off to others because he wants it done right. He makes his own work.

"I believe what you mean to say is no one else will do it correctly." Yeah, Loki knew that feeling. Even if he did let someone else do the work, he would end up spending double the time on it fixing their mistakes. It was very frustrating.

"Sir, the delivery boy is here. Shall I send him up or will you be picking the food up in the lobby?"
